Chemical Lab Assistant (F/M/D) Part-Time 20h/week

Your mission

We are seeking a reliable, hands-on Lab Assistant to support our team developing next-generation lithium-sulfur battery technology. The ideal candidate will have a chemical background and practical lab experience, with a strong focus on safety, organization, and efficiency. You will support daily lab operations, including cell preparation, inventory management, equipment maintenance, and safety checks.

Your tasks

  • Maintain and clean laboratory areas and glassware
  • Assist pouch cell assembly according to established procedures
  • Prepare pouch, coin, and Swagelok cell parts for testing and experimentation
  • Manage chemical inventory and laboratory consumables
  • Check and replace gas cylinders and ensure proper storage and availability
  • Calibrate laboratory equipment according to established procedures and schedules
  • Support equipment maintenance, including but not limited to TGA, SEM, and DSC
  • Perform routine laboratory safety checks, including fume hood suction, filter inspection/replacement, eyewash and emergency shower checks, and chemical waste management

Your profile

Absolute-Must-Haves
  • Proficient in German and English - our company language is English, incl. all internal communication and meetings. You will be contacting external technicians in German.
  • Chemical background or relevant qualification (degree or certificate)
  • Minimum 2 years of laboratory experience
  • Available to start as soon as possible
Good-to-haves
  • Flexibility in working hours
  • Experience in a battery laboratory
